IOL Returns Policy
Spectrum aspires to the highest sustainability standards and constantly strives to reduce waste. In line with our corporate sustainability philosophy, our returns policy for intraocular lenses (IOL) is set out below.
- Like many medical devices, IOLs have a limited shelf life. Once expired, they can no longer be used or re-sterilised. Expired lens disposal has an increased environmental impact. By working together, we can reduce the number of IOLs that have expired sterility and minimise this waste.
- By limiting the number of products in circulation to only enough to fulfil the needs of patients and through careful monitoring, we can reduce the number of IOLs produced. This improves the sustainability of resources for the industry.
- Reducing the number of IOL products in the system further contributes to our sustainability goals by reducing transportation and CO2 emissions.

Additional important information and conditions
- Spectrum does not re-sterilise lenses.
- An additional carriage charge of £17.00 will be applied at the time of purchase to cover the cost of the prepaid returns label. This will be dispatched with the goods.
- Returns made without a Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) and a properly completed Product Returns Form cannot be processed/accepted.
- Lenses returned with adhesive labels and/or writing on the carton cannot be accepted.
- Lenses with damaged or dirty packaging also do not qualify for returns.
- Returns must be appropriately packed to ensure their safe return and avoid damage during transportation.
- Should any such damage or loss occur due to inadequate packaging or incorrect completion of the carrier’s documentation by the customer, no credit will be given.
- Lenses that cannot be returned are AF-1PC – Aspheric Clear Pre-loaded lens - 06.00 - 30.00 dioptre.
- Returns are processed within our warehouse within 7 days.
Returns instructions
- Contact customer services on 01625 618 816 for your Returns Authorisation Number (RAN)
- Pack the item/s carefully to avoid damage during the shipping process. We suggest using a box and bubble wrap.
- Ensure that you have completed the Product Returns Form correctly, including your RAN.
- Add your completed Product Returns Form.
- Spectrum is not responsible for items lost in transit and a return cannot be processed until the item is received.
